SDI COP CIP System

Clean Efficiently & Effectively

The SDI expandable and convertible system can meet the wide variety of equipment cleaning needs in the dairy plant. Wash knives, hoops and utensils and then easily convert the system with the switch of a valve to meet the plant’s CIP needs. The system is easily expanded to support the evolving requirements of a growing business.

Traditional cleaning procedures require a two-step cleaning process utilizing an alkaline wash step and an acid wash step.  The alkaline wash step removes fats, proteins, and carbohydrates and the acid wash step removes minerals.

The SDI system utilizes products that perform the function of both an alkaline and an acid in a one-step cleaning process.  This results in the very significant benefit of eliminating a wash step and post-wash rinse step which saves water, time, energy, and chemical.

Environmental Stewardship

Reuse chemicals day to day with minimal daily make-up

Faster rinse time means less water used and less time spent washing

The insulated tank reduces energy costs by not overheating the production space and using less HVAC

We exclusively recommend Hypred Chemicals, which are phosphate and chlorine free

Stop Dumping Resources

Down the Drain!

The SDI system is a unique 2 tank cleaning process that utilizes a single step cleaner.  While traditional systems dump chemicals into the environment at a high rate, the SDI system employs chemical recovery, optimizes water consumption and reduces  overall chemical use, helping to preserve the watershed.

About Cleaning in the Dairy Plant

Clean In Place (CIP)

Typical CIP systems use two, three, or even four dedicated tanks that hold rinse and wash solutions.  These tanks can range in size from 100 gallons to greater than 300 gallons.  Most CIP systems have a fresh water tank, an alkaline tank, an acid tank, and a reclaim tank in addition to a complex series of  pumps and piping that supply and return wash solutions and rinses to and from the equipment being washed in place.  They also have a heat supply and a programmer that controls all of the pumps, heat, valves, and chemicals. Conventional CIP systems are set up to use up to 6 cleaning steps.

The SDI System eliminates the acid (in some cases alkaline) wash and the subsequent rinse. SDI streamlines the CIP process to 4 steps.

Clean Out Of Place (COP)

Typical COP systems use a dedicated tank for storing and recirculating a wash  solution to clean production equipment that is disassembled and placed in that tank.  These tanks typically have a heat supply, a pump, and associated lines for recirculation which enhance the cleaning process.  These tanks can range in size from 20 gallons up to, and even greater than, 2000 gallons. In conventional systems, the  COP wash solution is made up daily and discarded daily.

With the SDI System, wash solution can be reclaimed from day to day and maintain effective cleaning with only a 10-20% daily make up.  SDI eliminates the acid wash and associated post wash rinse, saving time, energy and chemicals.

Lumaco Stainless Valves

The superb simplicity of disc meeting shaft at 45° means the seat is unpierced, for the purest of product integrity. The 180° rotation angles the disc cleanly through the product flow so the valve opens without resistance and stays in place.

Half a turn of the valve handle provides quick, positive, leak-free shutoff. An "OPEN - CLOSE" mylar label indicates the status at a glance. A Simple twist of the accessory lock-handle transforms the Minidisc into a regulating valve, locking firmly into any desired position.
